The Hills

Back from my ‘vacation.’ I did manage to squeeze in a few days at the hills this weekend to give myself a vacation! We took the Harley out to the Hills and it was spectacular. I have never seen the Hills from a bike and it is something to do if you ever get the chance. It is just a different and great view! And the photographer that I claim to be I got no pictures! But on the bike with no saddle bags - a camera is not easy to transport. I lost my cell phone in Custer…thought I lost it off the bike but I ended up just leaving it at a restaraunt - so I recovered that!
We also got pulled over on the bike because the Hy-po thought it was too loud and wanted to make sure we weren’t running straight pipes! And we were NOT so he let us go…said they are cracking down on loud bikes in the hill - people are sick of them. Well then I ask, “Are they sick of all the money the bikers spend there too?” Because if they are…then complain about the bikes - if not…then shut up!
Ok…I am done ranting and probably should actually do some work today! Hope you had a great weekend! ~ erin

Tea Time at the Playhouse

Today Crawford interupted my Tea time at the Playhouse to fix some major website issue! I mean really - tea time at the playhouse is not to be interupted! Today we had raspberry tea with lemon and special mint leaves (which may have been poison ivy - I am kind of itchy now). Alayna was the tea master making tea for Megan & me. Brayden was cooking up some of his famous Sour Punch Soup for our main course.

The Playhouse is at Grandma Hopi's and the kids play the same way we did when I was little enough to be in the playhouse. Everything is made from dirt, grass, rocks and sticks...but of course there are special rocks for soup, and others for tea and so on. I would have to say today's menu was exceptional and the nap that I missed out on would have just been the icing on the cake - but not for me...back to work.

If you ever get the chance to stop at the Playhouse and Alayna & Brayden are cooking that day (they are from Texas so it is a real treat to have them in the kitchen) stop by because it will be the best dirt tea and rock soup you will ever pretend to eat!

Mr. Marshall

He is still growing and I just can't keep up with him lately (but then again neither can Mom or Dad). Now that he crawls it is quite difficult to get pictures of the little guy...but here are a few!

CHICAGO

Just got back from Chicago and we enjoyed it. I was a bus host for one of the two buses the radio station took to Chicago. We saw a couple of Cubs v. Twins games in Wrigley field, visited the Science & Industry Museum, made a stop near Soldier Field, went to the top of the Sears Tower, spent an evening at Navy Pier (where we took a sunset boat ride) AND managed to come back in one piece. Oh yeah - and Jon got bit by the brown duck. I would say we had a successful vacation although I know Jon is excited to be back! Some of my favorite pictures are below AND even Jon got some photography practice in when he took a few of me!

Chicago!

Outlaw

Jon was made to be in the old west AND he would tell you the same thing! I stand by my previous statement - I bought the old time studio just to get good pictures of him!
