Hello Big Apple

Jon and I celebrate our Six Year Anniversary from our first date. We were going to go to dinner but the alfalfa was calling - so we rode in the tractor together instead!

From the Fair
There was a whole big thing that happened at the Cedar County Fair this weekend. See my work blog to read what I have wrote on the page above! It is a really good story and worth your time.
Sunday Afternoon
This past Sunday afternoon was spent slaving away in the Dee's nice new Kitchen - Marshall supervising and Loren working on the new deck. We canned 50 jars of Spicy Pickled Green Beans...and jammed out to oldies!

Back from the Cities
I got back late last night after a two day trip to the Twin Cities. We left Saturday morning at 7am with 2 bus loads of people, went to see the Twins vs. White Sox game at the Metrodome Saturday night and then the Sunday afternoon game. We took off after the game and got back to Yankton around midnight. Glad to be back because I leave again July 31st for New York. Grandma Tycz is coming along on that trip because Jon will be harvesting wheat by then! Can't wait to go to the Broadway show - we are debating between Chicago or Phantom of the Opera.

With the storms that ripped through yesterday I arrived at home to find my crops damaged too! And to think I just pulled the weeds this weekend! If I would have left them standing I bet the beans and corn wouldn't be so beat up. But you may want to know that the few weeds I missed were still standing - go figure!

Dare you NOT to smile
Just try...bet you can't help but smile when looking at Marshall. He is so funny because this is his happy face and yet when he makes it no sound comes out. It's like the laugh catches in his throat and he can't get it all the way out! ~ erin

Weekend of Firsts
I got to be part of Marshall's many firsts this past weekend! It was his first 4th of July, his first trip to the zoo, his first time wearing shoes and his first time at the pool! It is so exciting to see him experience these things and I count my blessings everyday that DeAnna & Loren allow me to be part of their and their son's life!

E-R-I-N
I tried to get Marshall to say my name while I was there and he came darn close toward the end of the video. You have to listen closely and use a little imagination - but he definitly says erin!
Swingin'
I got Marshall a swing for home and we tried it out for the first time last night. Daddy hung it up and Mommy strapped him in and off he went! Swingin like a fool.
