My First Birthday Party

Dee was kind enough to have a little party for me before she went to the hospital...and I didn't even acknowledge her - so I will do it now! We did it on the 26th - the last time she said I would have to celebrate early becuase Marshall was scheduled to come on the 27th and I could share my day instead. But Marshall wasn't having any of that and held out so he could have his own day! Happy Birthday Marshall.

It's a Boy

I have myself a precious Godson! He came into this world via c-section this morning. No specific details yet. He is healthy and Mom is resting. Can't wait to go see him and bring back some pictures this afternoon! And no - I don't have to share my birthday...he came 8/28/08 just like Dee wanted - I just don't think she wanted to do it quite that way!

Water Broke

The doctor is back in the hospital and broke Dee's water to help the labor progress more quickly. Still expecting to take a while. Will try to keep posting as I keep hearing. Should have my Godbaby sometime today - so we will share a birthday!

Godchild Aiming for the 28th

If Dee doesn't go in to labor on her own - they are going to induce her on Wednesday...that MY birthday! How cool would that be to get a Godbaby on the same day I came into this world.

If not on my day though...the 28th would be just fine - so long as another person doesn't get a birthday before me! I have to be second to Jill forever...not sure I could take that again!

Fixing the Motorcycle

I helped fix the motorcycle on Saturday - and then didn't even get a ride when we were all done! But at least it works again! Maybe Jon will give me a ride tonight. This is what I looked like by the time we were done.

A Little Hand Print

When I woke up this morning the sun was shining in just right for me to see this little hand print. The only one small enough to leave this little print has to be Alayna - when she visited in July...and just today I discovered it. It made me feel all happy - and I can't bring myself to wash it off. It will just have to stay and be a memory to wake to each day!

Ready to Pop

Dee is at 39 weeks now, which means my Godson or Goddaughter could be coming anyday now! So excited!

Garden Wars

There is an art to growing melons - time, understanding and nine months of growing will create a jucy, squeezable, perfectly sweet little treat! Just a little over a week of growing remain until my Godchild will grace us!

Kermit

Kermit is Susan's (Jon's Mom) dog. While George and Susan were on vacation Ann and Katie took the shears to him and chopped away! He looked like a little rat when they were done and as you can see he wasn't too happy! But at least he was cooler - it got hot that week!

DeAnna and Loren Bratetic asked me to be their baby's Godmother today. I cried and of course said yes. I am truly blessed to have such wonderful friends and being asked to be such a special part of their child's life means the world to me. - I am going to cry again! I love all three of you.

Dee had the baby try on the new hat...I think it fits just right!

My Days Off

I had a couple of days off from work this week (Monday & Tuesday). Thought I was going to Sturgis with Jon - but there were baler issues again - so instead I spent my two days bummin'. I made a new purse, sewed a new apron and made these adorable hats for a couple gals at work with little ones. I don't have a little one to try them on - so my M&M had to do! Enjoy!

Keith Anderson

My job isn't so bad...as I got to meet Keith Anderson (Pickin' Wildflowers, I Still Miss You) at the Cedar County Fair in Hartington, NE on Friday, August 1st. I interviewed him live on-air! He was super sweet and really hott! He signed the back of my work shirt too! Thanks Keith!

Oh - and I just discovered he is 40 years old - not too bad for 40! Hope I look that good when I get there!
